Abstract


A RESEARCH ON READING MATURITY WITH REGARD TO ASSOCIATION WITH BOOK AND FAMILIES CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CHILDREN WHO ATTEND KINDERGARTEN
Abstract The working group of the research for reading maturity with regard to association with book and families characteristics of the children who attend kindergarten consists of totally 150 children and their mother who attend kindergarten 50 from low socioeconomic class, 50 from middle socioeconomic class and 50 from high socioeconomic class, in Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş. In research, reading maturity level of the children is determined by ‘Metropolitan Readiness Test’. ANOVA is used for evaluation of datas. According to results of the research, reading maturity point of the children who has book that appropriate age in low and high socioeconomic class, altho who hasn’t book, is determined more high as statistically more meaningful. It is realized that there is statically connection between reading maturity points and educational level of parents, working situation of mother and family structure.
