Abstract


INSPECTION OF VISUAL PERCEPTION LEVELS OF GAZI UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Subject matter of the study is composed of whether selectiveness of Gazi University students on images and concepts, seen by them in the environment, varies according to sex, age, department and class or not, in connection with the thought of possibility to improve visual perception or visual thinking by means of training. In this context, answers to the “Do the students of Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education know how to look to something?” question are searched in this study. Study data are collected from selective perception questionnaire data, developed in connection with selectiveness of students within the environment as well as guiding plates and advertisement panels formed on the basis of communication with benefiting from campus area determined as environment of the students. Data are evaluated via SPSS 20.0 package software. At the end of the study, it is seen that majority of the students of the Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education are not noticing the guiding plates within or outside the campus, and are not understanding the subjects of the posters although they realize the advertisement billboards, and they cannot implement perceptive awareness about places, which they passed in front of it or step onto it or in which they have education every day, and they either cannot recognize or make sense of it.
