Abstract


The Effect of Project Based Learning on Successful in Social Studies Course
In this study, the effect of project-based learning model on academic success of students in social studies course was investigated. Project-based learning encompasses learning at higher levels such as analysis, evaluation, synthesis. The project-based learning model offers a general solution to an objective by taking advantage of different disciplines about the real or virtual problems that individuals face in school and business life. In this study, experimental model was used. Data were analyzed by paired samples t test. According to the research result, the project-based learning model significantly increased the academic achievement scores of the students. Therefore, it has become clear that project based learning model is effective in improving academic achievement scores. As a result, it can be suggested that project based learning model should be used more frequently in social studies course.
