Abstract


ANALYZING THE ATTITUDES OF MANAGERS CARRYING ON THEIR DUTIES AT SCHOOLS AFFILIATED TO MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION TOWARDS FOLK DANCES (A TOKAT CASE)
This study was carried out to investigate the attitudes of school managers carrying on their duties at schools affiliated to Ministry of National Education towards folk dances. In the study, a questionnaire for measuring the attitudes of school managers carrying on their duties in elementary and secondary schools in Tokat provincial center towards folk dances was used. The questionnaire included totally 21 items, 9 as demographical. Five-point Likert scale was used for the items creating the scale. The scale was performed obtaining the permission of Tokat Provincial Directorate for National Education, and SPSS Program was benefited to analyze the data during the analysis process. Consequently, it was determined that attitudes of school managers carrying on their duties at schools affiliated to Tokat Provincial Directorate for National Education was positive, in general, and school managers had high level awareness on physical, social, cultural and psychological benefits of the folk dances.
