Abstract


ANALOGY METHOD IN PRE-SCHOOL SCIENCE EDUCATION AND TO WHAT EXTEND ANALOGY TAKES PART IN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
The educational activities that have been carried out in pre-school institutions where the children first start to have a regular education, are done in the frame of pre-school education programs. In science education that takes place in pre-school education program, one of the education methods, strategies and techniques that facilitate learning in science education and give it a meaning and play an important part in the abilities of problem solving, creativity and communication, play a significant role in especially transfering the abstract information to the children by materializing it, is analogies. In this research, it is aimed to evaluate the analogy method in pre-school science education and to what extend analogy method is included in pre-school education programs. Analogy method and how much place the analogy method takes in 1994, 2002, 2006 and 2013 pre-school programs of Ministry of National Education, have been analyzed through document analysis method. As a result of the research, it has been found out that, analogy method which helps learning especially the abstract concepts, cases and phenomenons in science education, is not included enough in activity samples in pre-school education programs and methods and techniques used in those programs.
